🌙 A Night in Savannah: River Views and Ghostly Tales

We arrived in Savannah with no grand agenda—just the hope of a good meal, a little mystery, and a hotel with character. And oh, did we find one.

Our hotel perched along the historic riverfront, with a fourth-floor window overlooking cobblestones, vintage storefronts, drifting boats, and the hum of foot traffic below. The view alone felt like stepping into a sepia-toned postcard.

🦪 Bernie’s & A Wall of Names

As twilight set in, we wandered down the promenade and found ourselves at Bernie’s Oyster House—a charming joint filled with laughter, history, and the briny perfume of the sea.

  • Oysters, crab legs, shrimp…the table was a wreck of shells and satisfaction.
  • We left our mark—our names scrawled on the wall, joining the graffiti of wanderers before us.

👻 Ghosts on Wheels

After dinner, it was time for Savannah’s famous brand of after-dark magic: a ghost tour. We climbed aboard an open-air trolley, driven by an emo tour guide dressed in period garb, her narration equally haunting and hilarious. For two hours, we drifted past shadowed mansions, gas lanterns, and grave tales that lingered like perfume in the warm Southern air.

🏡 Fountains & Farewell

Next morning, before heading home, we took a slow drive through Savannah’s residential jewels—oak-shaded streets, wrought-iron balconies, secret gardens, and parks peppered with elegant fountains. Quiet, graceful, romantic.

From velvet-seated flights in the shadow of Pilot Mountain to late-night garbage plates under fluorescent lights, every stop is more than a location—it's a story, waiting to be uncorked.
